Can I Keep My Existing Telephone Number?

Yes. In most cases, you can keep your existing telephone number when switching to EveryDay VoIP.

This process is known as number porting, which transfers your telephone number from your current provider to EveryDay VoIP without changing the number your family and friends use to contact you.

Which Numbers Can Be Ported?

Most UK, US and European geographic and non-geographic telephone numbers can be transferred to EveryDay VoIP.

The availability of number porting depends on your current provider and the type of telephone number you have.

How Do I Request a Number Port?

You can request a number transfer directly from your Customer Portal when placing your order or by selecting the option to port an existing number.

You will normally be asked to provide:

  • The telephone number(s) you wish to transfer.
  • The name of your current provider.
  • The account holder's details exactly as they appear on your existing account.
  • Any additional documentation required to authorise the transfer.

Providing accurate information helps prevent delays or rejected port requests.

How Long Does Number Porting Take?

Porting times vary depending on your current provider and the country where your number is registered.

Once your request has been accepted, you'll be able to track the progress of your port within your Customer Portal.

Will My Service Stop Working?

In most cases, your existing telephone service will continue to operate until the agreed port date.

Once the transfer has been completed, your number will begin routing through EveryDay VoIP.

Can My Port Request Be Rejected?

Yes. The most common reasons include:

  • The account holder's details do not match your current provider's records.
  • The telephone number entered is incorrect.
  • Required documentation has not been provided.
  • There is an active cease order on the line.
  • The number is not eligible for porting.

If your request is rejected, the Customer Portal will display the reason so that you can correct the information and submit a new request.

Should I Cancel My Existing Service?

No.

Do not cancel your existing telephone service before your number has successfully transferred to EveryDay VoIP.

Cancelling your service early may result in your telephone number being lost permanently and could prevent it from being ported.

Wait until your port has been completed before contacting your previous provider regarding cancellation, unless they have specifically advised otherwise.

Tracking Your Port

You can monitor the status of your number port at any time by logging in to your Customer Portal, where you'll receive updates throughout the process.
